SPINACH RICE


SPINACH RICE

An array of flavors to amaze your senses with every spoonful, cooked rice is given a new personality. Try this new avtar as spinach is very good anti oxidant.

Ingredients:

Basmati rice 1 cup
1 medium-sized bunch of fresh spinach boiled and pureed
3 tbsp ghee
2 onions chopped fine
1 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp garam masala or biryani masala powder
½ tsp red chilli powder
Salt to taste
Milk 1 cup warm

Method:
Heat ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds, fry the onions in it till soft.
Add 1 cup spinach puree and stir till oil gets seprated.
Add garam masala , salt and red chilli powder, mix well. Cook for 1 min.
Add warm milk and ½ cup water.
Bring to a boil and then add rice. Mix well.
Cook the rice covered on slow flame till done.
Let it remain covered for 5-10 min. serve hot.
